Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are broadening their creative reach with a slate of new shows across multiple streaming platforms. Their production company, Archewell Productions, confirmed that both scripted and non-fiction projects are in development, ensuring a diverse lineup in the coming years.
Polo-Themed Netflix Series
On March 23, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed a new fictional Netflix series centered on the sport of polo, one of Prince Harry’s longtime passions. The project follows their earlier docuseries POLO (2024), which received mixed reviews but inspired this scripted take.
Other Adaptations in Progress
Archewell Productions is also working on adaptations of popular romance novels. Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake are both in development, with the latter already having a director attached. These projects highlight the company’s focus on blending romance, drama, and cultural storytelling.
Multi-Year Netflix Deal
The couple’s partnership with Netflix transitioned last year into a multi-year, first-look deal for film and television. Despite speculation of tension between the streaming giant and the Sussexes, Netflix executives have dismissed rumors of disputes. Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria stated, “Don’t believe whatever you read. Maybe we should all do a little fact-checking.”
Expanding Beyond Netflix
Insiders confirm Archewell Productions will not limit itself to Netflix. “There is a mix of both fiction and non-fiction projects on the slate,” a source said, adding that programming will appear across several platforms in the coming years. Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, has also ended its relationship with Netflix and will continue independently.
Looking Ahead
With projects spanning romance, sports, and scripted drama, Meghan and Harry’s production company is positioning itself as a versatile player in the streaming industry. Their creative ventures reflect both personal passions and a commitment to storytelling beyond royal narratives.
