Olivia Dean continues her winning streak on Australia’s music charts. The British singer-songwriter’s second studio album, The Art of Loving, has secured a non-consecutive third week at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, confirming her growing global impact and one of the year’s strongest chart performances. The sustained success reinforces Dean’s expansion from rising artist to mainstream chart fixture. Her mix of soulful pop writing, emotionally direct lyrics and smooth vocal delivery appears to be resonating strongly with Australian audiences.

A big year for women in music

Dean is the ninth female artist to top the ARIA Albums Chart in 2025, joining Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Tate McRae, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Lorde and Taylor Swift. Industry analysts say this collective dominance has shaped the year’s chart narrative. More female-led releases reached No. 1 in 2025 than any year in more than a decade, continuing a trend of genre-spanning pop performers leading the market.

Dean is simultaneously controlling the singles roster. Her track “Man I Need” holds another week at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, marking its fifth straight week in the top spot. That run places her among a small group of female solo acts dominating singles leadership this year, including Lola Young, Doechii and Swift.

Chart strength beyond the top spot

While Dean leads both album and singles rankings, new activity continues further down the charts. The 50th anniversary edition of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here debuts at No. 5, and simultaneously claims No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums Chart and On Replay Albums Chart. First released in 1975, the record remains one of the band’s most celebrated releases and continues drawing new listeners.

Australian acts are also making gains. Boy & Bear re-enter the Top 20 with their sixth album, Tripping Over Time, opening at No. 13. The Sydney band has enjoyed two previous No. 1 albums and multiple ARIA Awards. Melbourne singer-songwriter Benjamin Stewart arrives on the tally as well, debuting at No. 48 with Junkdrawers, his second solo effort.

Holiday music begins seasonal climb

As December progresses, holiday staples climb or re-enter the singles charts. Mariah Carey’s perennial hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returns to No. 1 on the On Replay Singles Chart, kicking off what is expected to be another strong festive run. Wham!, Brenda Lee, Bobby Helms, Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson complete a holiday-heavy Top 6.

What’s next for Dean

With both album and single momentum rising, Dean heads into the final weeks of the year as one of 2025’s breakout chart forces. Analysts expect additional international traction as the holiday sales window continues and global streaming platforms amplify top-charting material. Her back-to-back achievements position The Art of Loving as a defining release for contemporary female pop in 2025, while signaling increasing expectations for future chart performance.
