Prime Video has strengthened its presence in Germany and Austria by extending its partnership with Leonine Studios through a new multi-year agreement.
Exclusive Streaming Rights
The deal grants Prime Video exclusive SVOD rights for six months within the pay-2 window to a slate of premium titles, including The Housemaid, The Drama, and The Hunger Games – Sunrise on the Reaping. It also covers German productions such as Ein Fast Perfekter Antrag.
Expanding Content Library
Beyond new releases, Prime Video will gain non-exclusive streaming rights to a wide range of Leonine library titles. These include blockbuster franchises like Asterix and Obelix, The Expendables, and John Wick. The agreement applies to all Leonine films with theatrical releases starting January 1, 2026.
Industry Leaders Speak
Leonine Studios CEO Fred Kogel praised the renewed collaboration, highlighting The Housemaid as a current box office hit. “This underscores the outstanding quality of our programming and the confidence Prime Video continues to place in us as a top-tier content provider,” he said.
Andreas Hartmann, head of licensing and co-production at Prime Video Germany, echoed the sentiment. “Leonine Studios is a valued licensing partner that stands for first-class entertainment. With this multi-year agreement, we’re bringing high-quality feature films and premium content exclusively to our customers in Germany and Austria.”
Strategic Move for Prime Video
