Bernthal’s Journey as Frank Castle
Bernthal first appeared as the Punisher in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2 (2016), where his brutal methods clashed with Cox’s vigilante. His popularity led to a standalone Punisher series that ran for two seasons from 2017 to 2019. Castle, a military veteran seeking vengeance after his family’s murder, quickly became one of Marvel’s most complex antiheroes.
Return to the MCU
After Netflix’s Marvel shows ended, Cox reprised his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo.
