Spotify Wrapped 2025 officially launched on Wednesday, giving millions of music fans their personalized listening breakdown for the year. As users rushed to share their top artists and most-played tracks across social platforms, the streaming giant announced that Bad Bunny is the world’s most-streamed artist for 2025, with more than 19.8 billion global streams.
The Puerto Rican superstar also claimed the biggest album of the year with Debí Tirar Más Fotos, a project that blends Latin trap, reggaeton, and traditional island sounds. His global streaming dominance coincides with a major milestone — Bad Bunny is set to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
However, his global ranking does not reflect U.K. listening trends. Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist in the UK, continuing her historic chart performance following her record-breaking international tours and multi-album releases.
Top Songs and Artists of 2025
The year’s biggest global song belongs to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with their emotional retro duet “Die With A Smile.” In the UK, Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” led the charts after spending 13 weeks at No. 1.
Meanwhile, Chappell Roan’s 2020 track “Pink Pony Club” surged to renewed success, becoming the UK’s fourth most-streamed song in 2025, demonstrating the powerful role social media plays in reviving older releases.
On competing platforms, Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT” dominated both YouTube and Apple Music, while YouTube listeners drove strong streaming of music from the animated franchise K-Pop Demon Hunters, with four soundtrack tracks landing in the Top 10.
Top Global & UK Albums
Globally, Spotify named the following as 2025’s most-streamed albums:
Bad Bunny – Debí Tirar Más Fotos
K-Pop Demon Hunters – Original Soundtrack
Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft
SZA – SOS Deluxe: Lana
Sabrina Carpenter – Short ’n’ Sweet
In the UK, Sabrina Carpenter led album listening with Short ’n’ Sweet, followed by releases from Alex Warren and the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack.
The Culture of Spotify Wrapped
Launched in 2016, Spotify Wrapped has evolved into a major social media event. Users receive visually dynamic slides summarizing their top songs, genres, artists, minutes listened, and even rankings like Top 0.1% Fans. This year’s rollout included a custom documentary-style film highlighting achievements from British talent such as Lola Young and Central Cee.
Experts say Wrapped’s increasing gamification influences behavior year-round.
“Wrapped turns millions of users into viral promoters,” said Professor Richard Whittle. “Some listeners even alter habits to engineer a ‘cooler’ Wrapped.”
