Tara Reid is speaking out after a troubling episode that unfolded late last year. The American Pie star, 50, has opened up about the incident at a Chicago hotel bar where she claimed she was drugged, describing the experience as “devastating.”
The November 2025 Incident
In November, Reid was seen being removed from the lobby of the DoubleTree hotel at Chicago O’Hare Airport. She later alleged she had been drugged after ordering a glass of wine, filing a police report soon after. A representative confirmed her account at the time, saying she believed her drink had been tampered with.
According to the police report, Reid recalled speaking with a man who introduced himself as a YouTuber. The two exchanged numbers and stepped outside for a cigarette. When she returned, she noticed a napkin placed over her drink.
Police Findings
Despite Reid’s claims, Rosemont Police said surveillance footage showed no evidence of tampering. Authorities explained that the bartender had covered her drink when she left, calling it standard practice. A video published by TMZ showed Reid slurring her words before being escorted out in a wheelchair, but investigators concluded there was no proof of criminal activity.
Police added that they were awaiting chemical test results from the hospital where Reid was treated. “At this time there is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating,” officials said in December.
Reid’s Reflection
Speaking to People, Reid admitted the incident has been difficult to process. “It was a very unfortunate thing that happened, but I’m just trying to get by and put it behind me because it’s just devastating in so many different ways,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of vigilance when drinking in public. “You got to really just check your glasses. You just don’t know. You have to not let your drink out of your hand,” Reid advised Despite the ordeal, she insists she is moving forward. “I’m fine. I’m good. Moving on. Better, bigger things ahead of me now,” she added.
Looking Ahead
Reid’s comments highlight both the personal toll of the incident and her determination to focus on the future. While authorities found no evidence to support her claims, her warning serves as a reminder about drink safety in public spaces.
