Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher in Prime Video’s The Boys, has teased that the upcoming fifth and final season will feature shocking fatalities from the very start. Speaking to Variety, Urban promised that audiences will be left stunned: “Every season, but particularly this season, from episode one, you’re like, ‘Oh wow.’ Nobody is safe. Fatalities right from the get‑go. Let’s go! Last season! It’s all on!”
Butcher’s Dangerous Path
At the end of Season 4, Butcher was left in a precarious state. His use of Compound V has not only pushed him to the brink of death but also given him terrifying powers, including the ability to generate black tentacles. He is also in possession of a virus capable of wiping out every supe on the planet. With his sanity unraveling, Butcher’s fate is uncertain — and Urban’s comments suggest even he may not survive the final season.
Homelander’s Reign
Meanwhile, Antony Starr’s Homelander has consolidated power, controlling the U.S. government with the help of Sister Sage. His dominance sets the stage for a massive body count, as he targets members of The Boys and anyone who stands in his way.
Extreme Stakes for the Finale
The series has always been known for its brutal satire and shocking violence, but Season 5 promises to raise the stakes even higher. With the show concluding, long‑standing characters may face their end, and fans should brace themselves for jaw‑dropping twists from the premiere onward.
Release Date
Season 5 of The Boys will debut on April 8, 2026, arriving less than two years after the Season 4 finale in July 2024. Fans can revisit earlier seasons and the spinoff Gen V on Amazon Prime ahead of the final chapter.
