Wedding plans for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly shifting as the couple reevaluates their venue options due to an unexpectedly large number of guests. The pair, who became engaged in August 2025, were originally believed to be planning a small summer ceremony in Rhode Island, but insiders now say those plans may no longer be feasible.
Reconsidering Their Original Vision
Early speculation suggested that Swift and Kelce hoped to host an intimate celebration at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion or at a nearby waterfront location. More recent reports indicated that the couple considered hosting the ceremony at Ocean House in Watch Hill, a luxury coastal hotel located next to Swift’s estate.
However, sources tell Page Six that the venue’s size and privacy limitations have prompted the couple to explore additional options that can better accommodate high-profile guests, including Kelce’s NFL circle and Swift’s music industry network.
“The guest list is going to be huge,” an insider said, adding that the couple is now weighing venues capable of handling extensive security and logistical needs.
Multiple Weddings Now a Possibility
According to insiders, Swift and Kelce may choose to keep part of their Rhode Island plans while adding a second wedding location for a larger celebration. Among the top contenders is Blackberry Farm in Tennessee, a 4,200-acre luxury resort known for secluded elegance and upscale amenities. The site fits Swift’s preference for privacy and could serve as a convenient choice since she owns a home in Nashville.
The well-known destination has been featured in Vogue, Brides, and Martha Stewart Weddings, and has hosted numerous celebrity events.
Could an International Destination Be Next?
Sources also claim the couple is considering a destination wedding abroad, potentially at a private island. One option reportedly under review is Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, owned by Richard Branson, whose grandchildren are fans of Swift.
Still, even that luxurious island might be too small for the anticipated crowd, leading the couple to look at additional private Caribbean islands.
No decisions have been finalized, and the couple is keeping details private as they continue touring potential venues.
Balancing Privacy and Celebration
Swift and Kelce, both accustomed to intense public attention, are reportedly focused on ensuring an intimate experience despite the global spotlight.
The couple has not publicly commented on the venue changes, and a timeline for official announcements remains unknown. For fans closely following what may become one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the decade, anticipation continues to build.
