The Yellowstone universe is expanding once again, and this time it’s bringing in a familiar face from The Walking Dead. Actor Michael Cudlitz has officially joined the cast of Marshals, the upcoming CBS spin-off led by Luke Grimes.
Michael Cudlitz Joins as Randall Clegg
Cudlitz, best known for playing Sgt. Abraham Ford on The Walking Dead, will portray Randall Clegg, the tough boss of a Montana ranch dynasty. His character is set up as a major antagonist for Kayce Dutton, played by Grimes, creating fresh tension in the new series. In an early teaser, Randall mocks Kayce by claiming the Dutton name no longer carries weight and ridiculing him for hiding behind a federal badge. Kayce, a former Navy SEAL turned U.S. Marshal, fires back, promising a heated rivalry that will drive much of the drama.
A New Direction for Kayce Dutton
Marshals picks up after the fallout of Yellowstone, shifting focus from ranch politics to Kayce’s combat roots. He joins forces with his former military boss Pete Calvin, played by Logan Marshall-Green, as he takes on his new role as a U.S. Marshal. The series promises a mix of gritty law enforcement action and family legacy drama, with Cudlitz’s character positioned as a formidable obstacle.
Supporting Cast and Premiere
Alongside Grimes and Cudlitz, the cast includes Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means. Familiar faces from Yellowstone will also return, including Gil Birmingham and Brecken Merrill. Cudlitz is set to appear in multiple episodes beginning March 15. The series premieres March 1 on CBS and will stream on Paramount+, expanding the ever-growing Yellowstone franchise.
Michael Cudlitz’s Career
Beyond The Walking Dead, Cudlitz has built a strong résumé with standout roles in Southland and Band of Brothers. His addition brings veteran grit and intensity to Marshals, ensuring the spin-off delivers the kind of high-stakes conflict fans expect from the Yellowstone universe. With Kayce Dutton stepping into a new chapter and Randall Clegg ready to challenge him, Marshals looks set to deliver a Montana showdown that fans won’t want to miss.
