Halle Berry is embracing a new chapter in her career, making it clear she has no intention of stepping back from the spotlight. At the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film Crime 101 on February 10, the Oscar-winning actress spoke about her determination to keep pushing forward.
“I Refuse to Go Away”
Berry, 59, told E! News that she is entering her “second act” with renewed focus. “I refuse to go away and disappear and fall off into obscurity,” she said. “I’m excited for this next act, so I’m just doing my part.”
She added that her costars believe she would be capable of pulling off a real-life heist, joking: “They know that I have reached a stage in my life where I have zero f—s to give. They know I would try it. Why not?”
A Packed Slate Ahead
Berry has teased nine new projects in development across film and television. On social media, she told fans she is “so ready for this next chapter,” hinting at a busy schedule ahead.
Crime 101 in Theaters
Her latest film, Crime 101, stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte. The heist thriller follows Hemsworth as a jewel thief whose crimes along the 101 freeway attract police attention. Berry plays a disillusioned insurance broker whose path crosses with the thief, while Ruffalo portrays a relentless detective closing in. The film explores blurred lines between hunter and hunted, with each character facing life-defining choices.
Hemsworth Praises Berry
Hemsworth previously admitted he felt “intimidated” working alongside Berry, having admired her career for years. He described the experience as inspiring: “Certain people just bring out the best in you. With Halle, it felt like a place to explore and try different things. I loved every second of it.”
A Bold New Chapter
Berry’s refusal to fade into obscurity reflects her commitment to evolving as an actress and storyteller. With Crime 101 now in theaters and multiple projects on the horizon, her “second act” promises to be just as impactful as her first.
