Marc Anthony is preparing to launch his first Las Vegas residency, Vegas… My Way!, at the Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater on February 13. While his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez has plenty of experience with residencies, Anthony made it clear he doesn’t need her input.
Standing on His Own
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony was asked if Lopez had offered him advice on the grueling nature of Vegas residencies. He replied firmly: “No. I don’t need advice from Jennifer as far as concerts are concerned.” He added that while he has seen her shows, he is charting his own path.
A Different Proposition
Anthony explained that his residency will differ from his stadium and arena tours. “This Vegas residency affords itself for me to do things I’ve never done before,” he said. The four-time Grammy winner revealed he has been designing a show specifically for the intimate venue, promising fans unique performances.
Songs Never Performed Live
With 114 No. 1 hits to his name, Anthony admitted he has never had the chance to perform many of them live. The residency will allow him to bring those songs to the stage for the first time. “I’m looking forward to that bucket list moment of giving those songs life,” he said.
More Than Music
Anthony teased that the residency will include storytelling and special guest appearances. “It’s going to be a big party,” he said. “I’ll talk a little more, probably tell a couple of stories, and since I’ll be here for a while, we’ll arrange for some special guests to duet with me.”
A Residency With Personality
While Lopez’s residencies at Planet Hollywood and Caesars Palace have been praised, Anthony is determined to make his own mark. His focus is on creating a personal, intimate experience that reflects his decades-long career and connection with fans.
