Survivor 49 delivered one of its most explosive episodes yet this week, as real and fake idols collided in a dramatic Tribal Council that resulted in a major blindside. Episode 10, titled “Huge Dose of Bamboozle,” aired Wednesday, November 26 on CBS and showcased intense strategy, emotional gameplay, and the unraveling of alliances in the final eight.
Last week, Savannah Louie saved herself once again by winning individual immunity, forcing the tribe to pivot away from voting her out. With Savannah protected and Rizo Velovic holding a public idol, Sage Ahrens-Nichols and Jawan Pitts shifted their plan and worked with them to eliminate Alex Moore for playing the middle. Rizo’s gamble to not play his idol paid off, solidifying his alliance with Savannah and Sophi “Soph” Balerdi.
Power Shifts and New Targets
This week opened with eight players still in the game: Jawan, Kristina, Rizo, Sage, Savannah, Soph, Sophie Segreti, and Steven Ramm. With Alex gone, Soph turned her attention to Steven, the next biggest threat sitting in the middle. Meanwhile, Steven and Kristina strategized to blindside Savannah, banking on Kristina’s hidden idol.
But secrets travel fast on the island. Sage learned about Kristina’s idol and passed the information along to Jawan. When Jawan tested Steven to see if he would reveal the idol and Steven held back, cracks formed within their alliance.
Emotional Moments and Challenge Tension
Ahead of the Day 18 challenge, Kristina shared an emotional story about the loss of her mother and her struggle to keep fighting in the game. Jeff Probst addressed the physical and emotional toll the game has taken on players, calling this stage of Survivor one of pure endurance.
Kristina, Jawan, Rizo, and Savannah lost the reward challenge, while Sophie, Soph, Sage, and Steven enjoyed a food-heavy trip to the Survivor Sanctuary. On the return, Sage worked to turn the middle players against Savannah’s trio.
The immunity challenge on Day 19 brought a tempting offer from Jeff: enough rice for the rest of the game if three players sat out. Rizo and Kristina rejected the deal immediately. Ultimately, Sophie Segreti won immunity, placing enormous pressure on the remaining candidates.
Chaos at Tribal Council
Heading into Tribal, Sage planned to flush both Kristina and Rizo’s idols while voting out Savannah. Sophie, however, decided to protect Savannah and told Rizo and Savannah about the flip—leading to a confusing tangle of alliances.
At Tribal, Kristina played her idol for Steven, and Rizo attempted to play his idol for Savannah—only for Jeff to reveal it was fake. Despite believing they were protected, the vote revealed stunning results.
The vote tally:
Savannah, Jawan, Rizo, Savannah, Jawan, Savannah, Jawan, Jawan, Jawan
Jawan Pitts was blindsided and became the next jury member. He exited with dignity, saying he had dreamed of playing Survivor since he was 13 and was proud to prove anything is possible.
Next Time on Survivor
The preview teased deep fractures forming as Soph and Sage clash over potential new targets—Savannah, Rizo, and perhaps unexpectedly, Sophie.
The game is entering its most unpredictable phase, and with only seven players remaining, the battle for Sole Survivor is tighter than ever.
