Chris Noth has spoken out about his fractured relationship with former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, criticizing her response to the sexual assault allegations made against him.
Fallout From Allegations
In a preview clip from the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, Noth revealed that the allegations contributed to the end of his friendship with Parker. “We’re not friends, I think that’s pretty obvious,” he said. “The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising.” Noth added that Parker should have reached out to him directly. “You need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked together for many years,” he said.
Allegations and Denial
In December 2021, two women accused Noth of sexual assault, with alleged incidents dating back to 2004 and 2015. The claims surfaced shortly after Noth reprised his role as Mr. Big in the Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That…. Noth has denied the allegations. Following the accusations, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis issued a joint statement supporting the women. “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth,” the statement read. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Social Media Sparks Feud Rumors
Speculation of tension between Noth and Parker resurfaced earlier this month when Noth posted a gym photo on Instagram. A fan commented, “You mean f*** SJP & her award right? Lol,” referencing Parker’s Carol Burnett Award from the Golden Globe Foundation. Noth replied, “Right.” He later clarified his response, calling it “off-the-cuff” and “slightly sarcastic.” In a follow-up post, he wrote, “It is not news. It is not worth all this discussion. It is a waste of time in a world there are more important things to worry about.”
