Jelly Roll is celebrating his Grammy wins in a way only he could—by sending one of his trophies to jail. The 41-year-old country star, who has been open about his troubled past and time spent behind bars, revealed his unique plan during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
A Grammy With a Purpose
“I’m obviously going to keep one at the studio because that was my dream,” Jelly Roll explained. “And I think I’m going to give the second one to [Davidson] County Sheriff Daron Hall to put in the jail.”
The gesture is deeply personal. Jelly Roll has previously estimated that he was in and out of lockup in Nashville about 40 times during his teens and early adulthood. By placing a Grammy inside the jail, he hopes to inspire inmates who may feel trapped in cycles of struggle.
A Big Night at the Grammys
Jelly Roll won all three categories he was nominated for at Sunday’s Grammy Awards. His victories included:
- Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken
- Best Country Duo/Group Performance for Amen with Shaboozey
- Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for Hard Fought Hallelujah with Brandon Lake
The wins mark a career-defining moment for the artist, who has built his reputation on raw storytelling and resilience.
Family Claim on the Third Grammy
As for the third Grammy, Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunny XO, has already claimed it. “I’m getting one for sure, because I feel like I earned it,” she told ET. Her support has been a constant throughout Jelly Roll’s rise, and she has often spoken about the challenges and triumphs they’ve shared together.
From Lockup to the Grammys
Jelly Roll’s journey from incarceration to Grammy recognition is a testament to transformation. His decision to send a Grammy to jail underscores his commitment to showing others that redemption is possible. For fans, the move is another example of Jelly Roll’s authenticity—using his success not just to celebrate, but to inspire.
