Bunnie Xo is speaking candidly about her marriage to Jelly Roll — and why she believes in second chances, but not third.
The podcast host and author appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she reflected on reconciling with her husband after his past affair. Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, married Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) just one month after meeting him. Their whirlwind romance led to challenges, including his infidelity, which lasted nearly a year.
Facing the Affair
“When I found out about it, it was just so heartbreaking,” Bunnie said. Instead of placing all the blame on Jelly, she looked inward. “Why do I keep attracting these types of men? What is going on with me that I need to fix?” she recalled. Jelly Roll also examined his own patterns, and together they committed to therapy to repair their relationship.
Bunnie admitted she initially left him, but Jelly fought to win her back. “I truly believe that man deserved a second chance, and I gave it to him, and it is the best decision I ever made,” she explained.
Drawing the Line
While grateful for their progress, Bunnie made it clear she would not forgive another betrayal. “Will he get a third? Absolutely f—ing not. Let’s just make that clear,” she declared.
The couple has now been together for seven years, and Bunnie credits their hard work and therapy for transforming their marriage. “I’m so thankful that I was willing to work it out with him and stick it out with him,” she said.
Jelly Roll’s Perspective
Jelly Roll has also spoken openly about the affair, calling it “one of the worst moments” of his adulthood. He admitted it forced him to confront his mistakes and put in “a lot of work to repair” their relationship. “I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair… but man, I’m proud of who we are today,” he said.
Bunnie’s Memoir
Earlier this month, Bunnie released her debut memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic. In it, she reveals the emotional toll of Jelly’s affair, including a moment when she contemplated suicide before ultimately choosing to move forward. Their story, though painful, has become one of resilience, second chances, and growth — but with clear boundaries for the future.
