Amy Shark joins Mark Hoppus on stage in Melbourne to perform Blink-182’s “Dammit.”

Melbourne fans witnessed a rare crossover on Wednesday night when Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus invited Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark to perform “Dammit” live. Shark, with her acoustic guitar, joined Hoppus on bass for the 1997 punk anthem. She later described the moment as “Extremely EMOtional” in a social post, thanking Hoppus for the opportunity.

Hoppus’s FAHRENHEIT-182 Tour

The performance coincided with Hoppus’s FAHRENHEIT-182 book tour, which opened with a sold-out event at Melbourne’s Recital Hall. The tour explores his journey through Blink-182’s rise, his fallout and reunion with Tom DeLonge, and his public battle with cancer. The Australian run continues until March 21, wrapping up at the Sydney Opera House.

Shark’s History With Blink-182

This collaboration adds to Shark’s impressive record of working with all three Blink-182 members. She first teamed up with Hoppus on “Psycho” from her 2018 debut Love Monster. In 2020, she collaborated with Travis Barker on “C’MON,” later featured on her 2021 album Cry Forever. Most recently, Tom DeLonge joined her on “My Only Friend” from her 2024 album Sunday Sadness.

Chart Success and Upcoming Album

All three of Shark’s albums have reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Her fourth album, soft pop, is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. Written entirely by Shark and produced by Dann Hume, the record promises a fresh sound. Its lead single, “The Biggest Dick,” signals a bold creative shift.

A Night of Punk Nostalgia and Modern Pop

The Melbourne performance highlighted the enduring influence of Blink-182 while showcasing Shark’s versatility. Fans experienced a unique blend of punk nostalgia and contemporary Australian songwriting — a collaboration that underscored the emotional power of live music.
