FX is expanding its partnership with super-producer Ryan Murphy with The Beauty, a new sci-fi medical thriller set to premiere on January 21, 2026. The highly anticipated series reunites Murphy with American Horror Story alum Evan Peters and promises a dark spin on the pursuit of perfection.

A long list of celebrity guest stars rounds out the ensemble, including:
Ben Platt

Lux Pascal
Meghan Trainor
Nicola Peltz Beckham
Peter Gallagher
Vincent D’Onofrio
The cast reflects the show’s blend of high fashion, global drama, and Hollywood star power.
Story Inspired by a Graphic Novel
Based on the comic by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, The Beauty explores a disturbing mystery in the glamorous world of fashion. When supermodels start dying under shocking and unexplained circumstances, the FBI launches an urgent international investigation.
Agents Madsen and Bennett soon uncover a sexually transmitted virus that transforms everyday people into physically flawless versions of themselves — but at a deadly price. Their search leads them to a powerful tech billionaire known only as “The Corporation,” played by Kutcher, who will go to extreme lengths to protect a trillion-dollar beauty empire. Anthony Ramos stars as his lethal enforcer, “The Assassin.”
Caught in the chaos, Jeremy (Pope) becomes an unlikely figure in a global crisis that threatens humanity.
Murphy’s Take on Beauty Culture
Murphy describes the series as “a sci-fi medical show about a new virus that mutates and turns you into your absolute perfect self.” He has also called it his version of “Ozempic culture,” questioning how far society is willing to go in the name of beauty.
Global Scope and Big-Budget Style
The show spans iconic fashion capitals — Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York — adding cinematic scope similar to Murphy’s comparison: Game of Thrones-level scale, but rooted in a stylish, dark thriller. Co-created with Matthew Hodgson, The Beauty marks another bold step into genre-blending storytelling for FX and Murphy. As the countdown to its premiere begins, fans can expect high drama, provocative themes, and the signature twists that have defined Murphy’s television legacy.
