Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expanding their creative portfolio with a new scripted drama for Netflix. The project, produced by their Archewell Productions alongside Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, will focus on the high-stakes world of polo.
Storyline and Setting
According to reports, the untitled series is set in Wellington, Florida, a hub for equestrian sports. The drama will explore the rivalries between two polo teams and the families behind them, offering a mix of upstairs-downstairs storytelling. Inspired by Harry’s passion for polo, the series builds on the couple’s earlier docuseries Polo, which aired in 2024.
Creative Team
Francisca X. Hu, known for her work on Teacup, Warrior, Dynasty, and Sleepy Hollow, will write the series. She teased the project on social media, saying, “Something horse-y and wildly fun this way comes!”
Netflix Partnership Continues
Despite speculation about tensions between Netflix and the Sussexes, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria confirmed the partnership remains strong. “We still have a relationship with them. We have movies in development with them. We have an amazing doc with them,” she said, dismissing rumors of a fallout.
Other Projects in Development
In addition to the polo drama, Archewell Productions is working on adaptations of Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake. These projects highlight the couple’s focus on romance and drama across streaming platforms.
Looking Ahead
The polo-themed drama marks a new creative direction for Harry and Meghan, blending personal passion with scripted storytelling. As Archewell Productions continues to expand, fans can expect more diverse projects that go beyond royal narratives.
