Rex Culpepper, son of Survivor alumni Brad and Monica Culpepper, has died at the age of 28 following a dirt bike accident in Florida. The Tampa Bay Times reported that the former Syracuse quarterback succumbed to injuries sustained over the weekend.
Fiancée’s Heartfelt Tribute
His fiancée, Savanna Morgan, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram. “No one expects to meet the love of your life and lose them in only six short years after meeting,” she wrote. “You made six years feel like a lifetime, Rexy.”
Syracuse Football Honors Rex
Culpepper played quarterback for Syracuse University, appearing in 30 games. The program released a statement honoring his resilience, noting that he overcame testicular cancer at age 20 while continuing to play. “Rex lived his life with endless passion,” the team shared. “Our hearts are with the Culpepper family & all those who loved him.”
A Family of Athletes and Survivors
Rex’s father, Brad Culpepper, played defensive tackle in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Chicago Bears before competing on Survivor: Blood vs. Water and finishing runner-up on Survivor: Game Changers. His mother, Monica, also appeared on Survivor: Blood vs. Water and Survivor: One World.
